We have travelled various ways across the Channel and have found Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Caen the most family friendly route to take. They provide playrooms on board and run activity clubs during the high season.

www.ryanair.com offering cheap flights from Stansted, West Midlands and Birmingham airports to Dinard (just 40 minutes from Jugon les Lacs). Car hire from this airport is available from Europcar and Hertz.

www.flybe.com is now too operating low cost flights from Southampton to Rennes airport (only 50 minutes drive from Jugon les Lacs)

During the summer months there is fastcat service by Brittany Ferries from Poole to Cherbourg – only 2.5 hours and one from Portsmouth to Caen only 4.5 hrs. As does Condor ferries running from Poole to St Malo via the Channel Islands.

For you information, travelling by car we are 35 minutes from St Malo, 2.5 hours from Cherbourg and 2 hours from Caen.

Eurotunnel from Dover to Calais - a 6hrs drive.

TGV service from Paris - Lamballe - Brest.
